The possibilities

Christmas is in the mere past, bring on 2014! Over the year I've wanted to pack up my things and just venture out into the unknown, to explore and see what the world has to offer this particular 19 year old... However since I didn't get to travel in 2013, I will make all of my goals come true in 2014.

Christmas 2013

Christmas is a time to celebrate with the loved ones. Also the time to splurge on scrumptious food and gain a food baby. Don't worry there is always a New Year approaching and that's why we make New Years resolutions...

Brisbane's 3 stories high TOPSHOP

It's better late than never! The time has finally arrived, Brisbane has been gifted with a TOPSHOP on the corner of Albert & Elizabeth Street, where Borders once stood. It opened on the 5th December (140 Albert Street to be exact).

Goodbye savings, hello brand new outfits!

I am so glad they opened a TOPSHOP in Brisbane, a 3 story to be exact! No more online shopping for us Brisbane girls and guys or even contemplating whether or not you ordered the correct size.
Topshop Brisbane will also be offering a free personal shopping service. When you enter a Topshop it feels like you're in a whole another world, with awe and amazement - just like child opening their first Christmas present, or an adult test driving their brand new car.

Without further ado, why not show you a couple outfits I would love to have in my closet!

My sister and I took a photo for their TOPSHOP giveaway and popped it onto Instagram for all to see.

Lace Back Playsuit
High Neck Stripe Crop Top (I wouldn't mind the skirt either!)

Who wouldn't love a set of Topshop makeup. I know I wouldn't complain! :)

I hope everyone will have a great week and A MERRRYYYY CHRISTMASSS!

God Bless

If you're not that fond of the hustle and bustle of the Christmas crowds (I know I'm not), you could easily do some online shopping. The only downside to online shopping is 'when is it going to get here' dilemma.

Time flys

Where has the year gone?! It's only two months until Christmas, then goodbye 2013... Time fly's when your having fun. I hope everyone has had a great year thus far and if you haven't don't worry there is still time to change it! Be Brave and step out of your comfort zone...

Since September I have started a new job at Review (it is the best, I love it). But recently I have been so distracted with what I was/am set out to do - so I thought to take sometime out to do a list; just to remind myself what I actually want to achieve, because 2 months ago I was just relaxing enjoying life (but it didn't really get me anywhere...)

Here we are at the time being ~

  1.  Travel around - go to as many places as I can before I get older
  2. Be positive -  about life, be out there, take more chances, about my body
  3. Eat healthier - one bad food isn't going throw me off balance
  4. Study - do something that will get me somewhere, I will be happy with, and
  5. I won't fear

Basically I wanted to have something in writting to at least remind myself of "Hey, are you doing this? Or what you should be doing more of". I hope you all are making the most of 2013!

Anyways I hope you all have a chilled Sunday and hope everything is fine and dandy.

You are a somebody

 Morning everyone!

I hope this week will be good to you. That you will keep your head high and if life gives you hurdles you will jump as high as you can to reach where you want to go.  Like my Pastor, always says "You are a somebody, God doesn't make nobody's, you are designed for greatness.

“I am worth it.”
there will be waves of sorrow in your life,
and you will feel as if you were the sand that the tide carries away,
you will feel as if it carries away your worth
it will feel like you are the left over rubble of a building
that had been burned down,
and you will feel less,
but please learn to say these words.
say them in the mirror when you have just woken up,
say them when your lover turns their back on you,
say them when you are opening up the refrigerator
sing them,
yell them,
whisper them,
and please, believe them.
You are more than sand that can just be washed away,
and you are more than just a few pieces of broken cement,
please,
you are worth it.
”

NAILS: Pretty in Pink

I was in definite need of some colour on my nails so I decided to try out Essence Colour & Go - best creation everrrrrrr! When it comes to pink I shy away from it most of the time, as some nail polishes look a bit off... But this baby is so simple to apply and the colour looks well, I think, amazing on my skin tone!

How to Style: Boyfriend Jeans

Hi everyone!

If case you have been living under a huge rock for the past month or two, boyfriend jeans have been a trend in many stores. So I thought to blog it out and outline what you could pair with these jeans. You can dress boyfriend jeans up or down.  Instead of buying an expensive pair of boyfriend jeans I decided to buy a random pair of jeans from an op (thrift) shop and distress them myself. This is what they look like -

Listed below are a few places where you can buy boyfriend jeans -
Nastygal
Nastygal
Asos
Dotti
Bardot
Mombasarose
Depending where you live, they most likely ship internationally...

Casual fling -
First match it with just a basic top either white/ creamy - maybe steer from dark tops in case your boyfriend jeans are dark - Personally I'd keep away from dark tees as I'd like to put more focus on the jeans itself.

Dress it up -
boyfriend jeans can be paired with heels, a basic singlet, crop top and a larger coat/ faux fur vest.

Shaggy vest - Sportsgirl
Vests - Dissh
Faux Fur Vest - Saboskirt
Fur Vest in Black - Mombasarose

I honestly love the many different looks you can create with this style of jean, I know it is a staple in my wardrobe that I will definitely get a lot of wear from. You could pair them with cardis, jumpers, plain t-shirts or a singlet and still get a very relaxed but 'well put together' outfit. You could take it up a notch and add some wedges or strappy heels, a blazer/ short military coat and add some bold statement jewellery to achieve that chic-on-trend appearance.

Lastly don’t be afraid to try out the boyfriend jean, they are super comfy and stylish so you have absolutely nothing to lose!

Get Ready With Me: Everyday makeup & Style

Hey everyone!

Recently I've been mixing and matching my makeup to fit my outfit of the day/night and this week I thought to keep it simple with my foundation. When I do my makeup I like to keep it simple, unless I am going out to dinner, I might add a red lipstick or maybe even a purple one :p

Abundant August

Hello everyone!

This past month has been one amusing roller coaster, nevertheless it is great to finally see the end of the ride!! Although it hasn't been too hectic like some peoples calenders... My calender went something like this; Three different dentist appointments (one including all 4 wisdom teeth being taken out, Ouch I know!), getting my car serviced, the Ekka and also not having internet for the last week... So I guess that's why I haven't posted what is up, but I'm back! :)

My Skincare Rountine

Hi everybody, I hope you're having a great day!

Alright so I know skincare can be tricky, especially when hormones start to kick in. Growing up was a pain in the butt, when it came to choosing the right product for the right skin type; I didn't know what was my skin type, how/which products would work best etc. So I went with my mum to figure out with creams, cleansers or exfoliators worked best for me - when I was going through my teens I had bad acne marks on my forehead!! Sometimes I am a picker and a popper - which you should never do! For me it's just a habit. Gross, I know, but since I found the Garnier 3 in 1 (Cleanser + Mask + Scrub) that works perfectly to get rid of my problem areas and scars. Yay!! I have used this product for over 5 months now, and I love it so much. Why not give it a go, if you have combination/oily skin.

For moisturizing my face, I use an organic cream that sooths my face, and works to get rid of acne - well it works wonders on my face, as I definitely don't have much acne as before, except for the occasional pimple here and there - but not to worry I have handy facial regime to keep them away haha...

Third on my list are my Biore makeup wipes - these are great for taking off your makeup off whilst cleansing your face (but don't forget to use your cleanser aswell) and is very moisturizing.

Now onto my Cucumber Peel-Off Mask - this has recently been used so much this past month, as I broke out quite alot around my cheeks; and boy were they painful, so once I used this it took about a couple of days until they they disappeared, whilst using Garnier Pure 3 in 1. So I definitely recommend face masks, especially the smell of cucumber!

Lastly my Clairns Very Dry Skin sample tube from Myer; this has been amazing on my skin, especially around my nose and forehead - thank you very much winter for drying my skin. But this lotion has done wonders on my skin, and I'm hoping to someday grab the bigger tub but maybe next winter. I have never needed to change my moisturizer in winter, but I since it has been so cold this winter, I definitely had to find something amazing... If you're skin is dry, what lotions do you use? I'd love to try them out.

1) Biore Makeup removing wipes - Priceline $8.95
2) Sukin Facial Moisturizer - Priceline $9.99
3) Garnier Pure 3 in 1 (Cleanser + Scrub + Mask) - Priceline $15.45
4) Cucumber Peel-Off Mask - Target $6.99
5) Clairns Very Dry Skin Moisturizer - Myer, it was a sample

So that is it loveys. All of these products work for me, so why not give them a try and let me know.
I'd also love to know what skincare products you use and I hope if you're looking for some skincare products that these helped.

Once again have an awesome day!

Ps. All thoughts/opinions are as always, my own.

Job Interviews | How, What, When, Why

Hey everyone, so you've made it!

All that hoping and praying to get the job that you truly want have been answered...
So you've been waiting for an interview and you finally got that response call/ email; now all you need is an outfit that will justify your personality and work ethic... Trust me this is nerve racking, not knowing what to wear, so many questions to be answered, do I wear this to the interview? Is this too short? Is this appropriate?

Calm down and Prepare.
I hope by writing this blog you will have an idea what to wear without looking too over the top and hopefully make a good impression that will get you the job! Depending on what job you want, there a few steps to consider... But for me personally I would love a career in retail and fashion; to be specific a fashion stylist would be ideal...

Preparation:
First things first, once you've found out the time, date, and place of the meeting, sort out how you will get there - you surely do not want to be late, or have trouble finding the place (this is if the interview is at another store).

Secondly, don't forget to bring your resume and covering letter (if you have one) to the interview - this means that you are organized and prepared just incase the interviewer isn't (probably unlikely).

Thirdly, definitely do some research on the business you've applied for, this will help you alot with answering questions down the track, [refer to examples below] but also do check out the store to see how the staff behave/act towards customers or even talk to someone who works there.

Lastly number four. Practise!
This will boost your confidence, calm your nerves and give you an idea on how to answer questions plus get tips from your family/friends. Incase a question comes into the conversation you will be able to answer it with ease.

Outfit Ideas: From head to toe

This part can be stressful, fun, exciting or easy depending who you are and how much experience you've had at job interviews... This is where the interviewer wants to see your personality, but still dress appropriate. Depending what the job is, you'll have something in your wardrobe that will hopefully fit for a job interview. For instance, go for blazers, a button-down blouse and black pants (that fit well) - these ones are your safe bet, whilst still looking presentable. Choosing an outfit for an interview doesn't always have to be monochrome, you can still add a little colour to spice up your outfit. How about a cardigan, thin belt or possibly a statement necklace - these will make the outfit a bit more interesting. When it comes to shoes, choose a little wedge heel or flats - never sandals! Hairdo - keep this simple, a ponytail (hair tucked behind the ears) will do or even be a bunhead.

Appearance is important!

  • Try not to look grubby.
  • Hair, nails and clothes should be presentable.
  • Don't overdo the makeup and no dark/neon lipstick - keep it simple, nude coloured lips!
  • Don't expose cleavage, straps, stomach - if your top is see through wear a singlet or change tops
  • Don't wear a mini-skirt/short dress that shows too much leg or bottom - you never know who wears what
  • Shoes - sandals, thongs and your clubbing heels are a NO GO!

Here are three outfits I would wear to a job interview...

1) Top - Target
Pants - Forever New
Bag - Sportsgirl
2) Top - Forever New
Pants - From a friend
Boots - Valleygirl
Necklace - Colette

3) Blazer - Temt
Top - Universal
Pants - Melrose ave
Boots - Valleygirl

Also, I thought to write down two example question's I came across whilst applying for a job.

 EXAMPLES:

  • I love fashion because I can incorporate my personality and mood through my particular style. My personal style would be eclectic, edgy and classy. My fashion icons are...
Why do you want to work here? Possible example:
  •  I would like to work for [store], because I know I will do my best to keep the customers satisfied with getting the latest look, for whatever occasion. I also would love to work with [store] as I can see myself being a good representative and my personality suits the clothing.

Oh and if you didn't know, I post videos on Youtube and I just did one on Job Interview outfits!
So if you're stuck, check it out and I hope it'll help; if not, leave a comment
and I'll do another one in more detail.  With these tips I hope you have a rough idea on what to wear and how to answer questions. Good luck and I hope you get the job!

Ps. Sorry that this is a tad long but don't forget to smile, be cheery, positive and look interested.

What's New?

Hey Everyone!
I hope you are all fine divine and enjoying life!

Recently my mind has been wondering for the past couple of weeks, where I have been staring at my blog and journal coming up with ideas like beauty related topics, what to wear to an interview, hauls and how to style etc. So I'm just writing to let you guys know that I will have big and better things coming soon, it will take some time to put it all together and get my point across.

Also I have a Youtube account; sometimes I do use it as it can be more handy when I can't use words to reflect how I truly feel about something...

So leave a comment below on here and on Youtube what'd you like to see/read and I shall do my best to follow through.

It's always the right time....

Hey guys,
So I know it can be a drag to workout whilst in the colder months; trust me my motivation has been all over the place, from being really motivated to I'll exercise the next day (this goes on for about 3 days, and that's bad). It's time to shape up ladies, you do not need to take the elevator, you do not need to drive to the corner store and you definitely don't need those treats... With self discipline we can do it! We can get your summer body you've always wanted, or to look good naked or to simply build your strength, having muscles won't make you any less attractive, so honey don't sweat it!

For me personally I love being able to exercise. Since a young age I've always been active, playing in the yard after school with the next door neighbours kids, riding my bike, getting involved in sport carnivals at school,  to being involved in soccer from grade 6 - 9 (because I decided to cut down on playing soccer for club and focus on my school work but having PE and touch football to keep me fit until I finish high school.

Exercising doesn't have to be such a drag, you can make it so much fun, with a few tips from down below I'm sure you'll find the motivation you need to get moving...  Keep in mind I'm not a personal trainer or dietitian, I'm just simply putting my 2c in.

Everyone is different when it comes down to exercising, body image and physical strength; so for myself I use the marvelous internet to help me warm up, choose exercises for different parts of my body and also to eat healthy. Thanks to Casey Ho an all round bubbly fitness instructor and creator of Blogilates, if you haven't seen her on youtube you should definitely check out her motivational videos, you get results, they are so much fun and get you covered in sweat after a few videos... I'm sure you'll appreciate it when it comes to Summer time!

The best thing you can do before starting an exercise/workout routine (if that's what you are into, I sometimes go by Blogilates workout calenders - which are password protected if you sign up to her free newsletters - can unlock the monthly calenders, then bam you set) is to make time to workout, it might seem impossible, with your work or children to look after; but whatever it is, think about being able to not feel tired all the time, if you just put in at least 30-40 minutes of exercise into your daily routine (Morning, Lunch time, Evening)  it could work wonders! Boosting endorphins, can keep your energy levels flowing and fighting the constant feeling of being fatigue.

This next tip shouldn't come to you as a surprise, but you have to stay Hydrated. Staying hydrated is so important as well as eating right, but being hydrated will help with healthy digestion, glowing skin and fight fatigue! No matter where you are, keep a water bottle with you. I even keep a water bottle on the side of my bed. Also drink plenty of green tea!

I love working out; but I know sometimes it can be hard to be motivated. But why not let you all know a few stereotypical reasons to be active.

1. It makes me happy - who doesn't want to be happy
2. It makes me forget about everything; stress relief
3. To feel good naked
4. To loose weight - to get that bikini body back
5. It's entertaining - there are different ways to exercise!
6. Most of us workout to feel stronger or tonned.
7. There is no excuse to not be active - there is always Blogilates (I'll leave a link and more detail towards the end)
8. To keep my body healthy and balanced
9. It's part of my life now
10. Exercising makes me feel peaceful -it's my me time!
11. I am more comfortable and confident in my own skin
12. I love that it doesn't have to be an over exaggerated workout to get results - at least 30 minutes of fast paced walking can do wonders if you're running out of time.
13.I love the feeling of being sore after a workout, because I know that I have put in so much effort, to get the best results.
14. Can exercise with a friend or in a group - this helps as you don't want to let him/her/them down.

There we have it. Let me know in the comments below what are your reasons you workout.

Love Kathy xxx
